What's New

Clear the decks! Clear the tracks!
I've got nothing to do but relax.
Blow a kiss. Take a bow.
Honey, everything's done…

Wait.  Relax?  Fall Market is less than five months away!  But I’m not going to worry about that yet.   As for right now, I don’t know that everything is coming up roses, but there sure is a lot “coming up”!  A couple of books, lots of new patterns and fabric!

The new books have been published ~ Schnibbles Times Two from That Patchwork Place and Miss Rosie’s Spice of Life Quilts from Leisure Arts.  If you don’t already have them, what are you waiting for?

There are more than a dozen new patterns ~ eight of them are for big quilts and there are six new Schnibbles patterns.  Variety and versatility are my buzzwords this year as four of the patterns show two different quilts.  While all of the quilts can be made with fat quarters, some can also be made with fat-eighths, Jelly Rolls or Honey Buns.  The best thing is that some of the quilts are as easy as they look… though there is one with 600 half-triangle squares.  I know.  I just can’t help myself.

Variety is also how I would describe the new Schnibbles quilts.  From strips to stars, there is definitely something for everyone.  And, yes, Paganini has four “variations”.

Fresh Palette is the first Miss Rosie’s collection from Henry Glass.  It came about after realizing that I was looking for fabric that I couldn’t find – something that combined the fresh, clean color of contemporary collections with the types of prints and scale that work best for the blocks and piecing I like.  A little vintage fabric and a few paint chips later, this is it!  The fabrics will be shown at Spring Market and will be available later this year.

There is a free Fresh Palette quilt pattern available.  There are two sizes included, and both quilts are made using just the fat quarters from the collection and some yardage for the border.  There is at least one more quilt planned… probably a few more than that.

Do you know what that means?  It means I need to clear the decks and get back to work!
